Dr. Niccolo Somaschi

niccolo_somaschiiiiI obtained my master degree in physics (MSc) at Università Milano-Bicocca (Milan-Italy) in 2009 after an intership at Université Paris-Diderot (Paris-France) .
Afterwards I started a doctorate in Physics as Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow in the European ITN program “Icarus” studying optical non-linearities in hybrid semiconductors microcavities, as a joined project in between the IESL Institute (Crete – Greece) and the University of Southampton (Southampton – UK) where I obtained my PhD in 2013.
In the same period I moved to the group of Pascale Senellart (Paris – France) where I currently work as postdoctoral researcher.
My research focuses on the development and study of quantum properties of single photon sources based on semiconductors quantum dots embedded in micropillar cavities.

Dr. Valerian Giesz

After his engineering studies at the Institut d’Optique, Valérian did his PhD in the group at the LPN. During three years, he studied different solutions in order to improve the performance of single-photon sources. In 2016, Valérian received two awards for his work : “PhD Prize of EDOM of the University Paris-Saclay” and the DIM NanoK PhD prize in the category “Value-creation”.

Lorenzo De Santis

desantis_fotoI have received my Master’s degree from University of Ferrara and University of Paris-Sud.
I am currently completing my PhD in the group led by Pascale Senellart at C2N – CNRS.
The focus of my work is on single photon generation using QD based CQED devices and tomography of entangled photons states.
